QuietControl™ series will protect you from the outside noise with its revolutionary noise cancelling system, but it also needs this app to function.
The app automatizes numerous routine features, like turning the speaker or the headphones off after some period of inactivity, or reminding to charge the speaker when the battery runs low. It’s also logical to integrate the app with TuneIn and Apple Music, so you can access your favorite tracks right from Bose Connect.
Last but not least: the app is necessary to unlock the full potential of Bose Frames, the first AR glasses with built-in innovative temple speakers. Not only does it broadcast the sound to its speakers, replacing traditional in-ear phones, but transfers the data to its screens in the lenses.
We shouldn’t conceal the downside of Bose Connect that was a reason for suing the company in 2017. The lawsuit claimed that Bose Connect collected the data on what people listen to and sent it to remote servers. This data can be of interest for record labels, radio stations and other music industry players; while it’s not as sensitive as private talks or search logs. It’s not clear whether Bose really did it or is still doing. But if this matter is too sensitive for you, you better make your own conclusions.
